A: No. pcaFrame is a general purpose structural analysis program for 2D/3D structures. It does not design members.

Q: pcaFrame - Do I have to have pcaCAD to use pcaFrame?

A: No. pcaFrame itself can generate a model and solve it. However, with pcaCAD, generating a 3D model is much more convenient and faster. pcaCAD is a graphical model generator for pcaFrame. Its graphical editor allows fast generation of the modeled structure by simply drawing it right on the screen. pcaFrame is required to solve a model.

Q: pcaFrame - I got "Cant run 16-bit Windows program" error. What should I do?

A: This error may happen if the length of the directory name in the path to the pcaFrame executable is more than 8 characters long. Please uninstall the program, and then reinstall the program in a short path. For example, "C:\pcaFrame\" is good, while "C:\Program Files\pcaFrame\" is not good because "Program Files" is more than 8 characters long.
