Universities and professors are important partners to StructurePoint. Our
engineering software for the analysis and design of concrete buildings
and structures is used in many of the leading Universities worldwide, helping train the next generation of structural engineers. If you are a faculty member of a University and are interested in the software for educational or research purposes, please contact us using the following link univ@StructurePoint.org. Please include your contact information, University name, title, and your
intended use of the software.
Significant discounts are available for qualified educational purposes. Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to making our software a part of your curriculum.

Annual Building Professors' Seminar
In an effort to keep the concrete industry in touch with university professors of civil, structural, and architectural engineering, the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA), the Portland Cement Association (PCA), the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), and the Post-Tensioning
Institute (PTI) co-sponsor an annual Building Professors' Seminar. Since 1991, the seminar has been held every summer at PCA's Skokie, Illinois, headquarters.
Financially sponsored by
regional cement and concrete promotion groups, professors from around the U.S. and Canada travel to Skokie to attend the three-day seminar. Among topics covered are economy in the design of multistory buildings, latest concrete building design software, details of reinforcement, the latest changes in the ACI318 building code, design against earthquakes, and codes and standards updates. Consulting engineers share their experiences regarding common errors made by beginning engineers, formwork considerations, and the real world of structural engineering practice. A topic of particular interest to professors is successful teaching of reinforced concrete design. Participants' forums allow the professors to share with one another their own successful classroom ideas. Each participant is given several publications and hand out material provided by the speakers and sponsors. Two evening social programs are included.
The next Building Professors' Seminar will be held August 4 to August 6, 2008, in Skokie, IL. For more information, please contact Caron Johnsen (e-mail:
