Privacy Policy

StructurePoint LLC

Last updated: June 2026

About This Policy

1. Introduction

Thank you for visiting StructurePoint (“SP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect the privacy of everyone who visits our website and uses our software, and we are committed to being clear about the information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

This policy explains how we handle information collected through our website at structurepoint.org. By using our website, you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect and Why

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you request a software trial, contact us, or place an order, we collect the information you give us — such as your name, email address, company or institution, mailing address, phone number, and anything you include in your message.

Information collected automatically. When you browse our website, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and analytics tools (described in Section 4). This includes the pages you view, the page you arrived from, your approximate location, and basic device and browser information. On its own, this information does not personally identify you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your inquiries and provide customer support;
  • deliver software trials and process the trial download and activation;
  • process and fulfill orders placed through our bookstore;
  • understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it; and
  • send you resources or information related to our software when you have requested or would reasonably expect them.

We do not add you to an automated marketing mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Analytics

A cookie is a small file stored in your browser that helps a website function or helps us understand how it is used. Our website uses two kinds of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the website to work — for example, session cookies that maintain your connection as you move between pages.

Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use our website — such as which pages are most visited and how people navigate the site. Google Analytics collects information including your IP address, the pages you view, the page you arrived from, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. We have Google Signals enabled, which means this information may also be associated with Google’s data about signed-in users and used to support advertising features. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if strictly necessary cookies are disabled.

5. Software Trials and Order Confirmations

When you request a software trial, you provide your email address so that we can send you a download link and the information needed to activate the trial. We review trial requests individually, and we may later send you resources related to the software you requested. We do not add you to an automated mailing list.

Automated confirmation and reply emails (for example, after you submit a request or place an order) are delivered through Twilio SendGrid, an email delivery service. SendGrid processes the email address and message content solely to deliver these messages on our behalf. If you no longer wish to receive software-related emails from us, you may opt out at any time by contacting us.

How We Handle Your Data

6. Payment Information

When you make a purchase through our bookstore, your payment card information is encrypted and transmitted to our merchant processor (STAX Payments) to complete the transaction. Card data is redacted upon order completion and is not stored by StructurePoint for any further use. All credit card transactions handled by StructurePoint LLC meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy and to meet our business, legal, and accounting obligations.

Because we provide long-term software licenses and ongoing support to engineering professionals, we generally retain customer and inquiry records for the duration of our business relationship with you. When a record is no longer active, we mark it as inactive rather than continuing to use it.

You may request that we delete your personal information at any time (see “Your Privacy Rights” below), and we will do so unless we are required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.

8. Third Parties We Share Information With

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent needed for them to perform their service. These providers are:

  • Google LLC (Google Analytics) — collects website usage information to help us understand and improve our site. Because Google Signals is enabled, this may also support Google’s advertising features. (Google Privacy Policy)
  • Google LLC (YouTube) — our tutorial pages include embedded YouTube video players. When you play a video, YouTube collects information about your viewing (such as which video you watched and for how long) and may set cookies. (YouTube Privacy Policy)
  • Twilio SendGrid — delivers automated email replies, such as confirmation messages after you submit a request or an order. (Twilio Privacy Policy)
  • STAX Payments — processes payment card transactions for bookstore purchases under PCI-DSS standards. (STAX Payments Privacy Policy)

Aside from these providers, we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

9. Where Your Information Is Stored

StructurePoint is based in the United States. Our website is hosted on Microsoft Azure, and the information we collect is stored on our servers in the United States. Some service providers we use, such as Google, may process certain information (for example, analytics and video data) on servers in other countries, under their own privacy practices and applicable safeguards.

10. How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the personal information you share with us against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

Your Rights and Choices

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal information;
  • Portability — request a copy of your information in a portable format; and
  • Non-discrimination — be free from unfavorable treatment for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@structurepoint.org and we will handle your request.

For California residents (CCPA). Because we use Google Analytics with Google Signals enabled, some of the information we collect may be considered “shared” for advertising purposes under the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents have the right to opt out of this sharing. To do so, please contact us at info@structurepoint.org, and you can also limit this collection through your own Google Ad Settings.

12. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA and UK visitors)

Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process your personal information on the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to deliver software trials, process orders, and provide the support you request;
  • Consent — for analytics cookies and any optional communications;
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve our website, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

13. Children’s Privacy

StructurePoint’s website and software are designed for engineering and academic professionals and are not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their personal information, please contact us at info@structurepoint.org and we will delete it promptly.

Other

14. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to websites we do not operate, including our LinkedIn page. We choose these links carefully, but we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of websites we do not control. Once you leave our website, this policy no longer applies, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.

15. Complaints and Supervisory Authorities

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, we encourage you to contact us first at info@structurepoint.org so we can try to resolve the issue directly.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction, including:

  • EU/EEA residents — your national data protection authority (see the European Data Protection Board for a full list);
  • UK residents — the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO);
  • Canadian residents — the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC);
  • California residents — the California Attorney General or the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA).

16. Changes to This Policy and Contact

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we do, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date at the top.

If you have any questions about this policy, or if you would like to exercise any of your privacy rights, please contact us at info@structurepoint.org.
